A Remodel, A Baby Shower, and Shopping...Oh My!

Well, today was a busy day.
No, no I did not have time for my leisurely Sunday morning
routine of coffee, the Sunday paper, and blog surfing...and a garage sale or two.
No, no, no.
I opened my eyes and we were off and running.

I took the kiddos out for breakfast this morning
to celebrate the fact that I made a delightful amount of money this week end at work.
(Sure makes it a little easier to be there if you making more money :)
Then it was back to the abode
to organize a few things in this upside down casa.
Since, the Mr. tore out all of the carpet our lives have been in chaos.
The first 2 weeks of school, doctor's appointment galore, the Mr. injuring himself, and my prepping for classes to being this next week all while working full time...
has not left a lot of time for the remodel.

SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE.
Just stick with it...even if you can only give a half hour today make it count.
It will get done and it will be amazing.
(This is my mantra for the last few days...and deep breathing.)
The house being in disorder like this is causing my some pretty severe panic attacks.
I know I shouldn't sweat the small stuff....
but, I can't help it.
This is cutting into my project time.

And after a few petty things were accomplished around here we got ready to
attend my sis-in-laws
baby shower...for new baby
ERIC ALAN!
We are sooo excited he will be arriving on October 25th!!!
I requested the day off so that I can be there to meet him!

We had a wonderful time at my sis-in-law's parents new home on the CDA river.
It is such a beautiful home and they have been so gracious to have
so many people over in celebration of their grand babies twice this last month.
Thank you Robin and Dave!

After the shower my little Miss and I stopped off the pick up some paint.
Black primer, Black Satin, and of course Heirloom White...
I have to spray paint something!
I am going crazy!

We also bought Little Miss a few more sassy shirts for school and some
interior painting supplies...BOGO!  Sweet!
Had to take advantage of that!

Then I took the family out for a little Mexican food.
RUMBLY IN MY TUMBLY!YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!

Now we are home the kiddos are in bed,
I am attempting to blog,
and then I am going sneak out and paint!!!

Night, night, sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite...eeewww.
SWEET DREAMS!

10 Year Anniversary!

Well, ten years ago this time
the Mr. and I tied
the knot.
We have had a wild Roller Coaster ride
for the first several years and we seem to finally be in the Ferris Wheel.
(A ride I am much more comfortable and happy on!)

We have never really done more than dinner and a card,
but this year was a big one
10!
We thought we owed it to ourselves to step outside the box and
do something bigger than dinner and a card.
I booked us a trip to
Palm Springs at the Palm Springs Riviera Resort and Spa (through Groupon Getaways)
 in mid-October...
But the actual weekend of, we did a little stay-cation!

Let me just say,
Loved it!

It was by far the best anniversary 'trip' ever!
We knew where everything was, found places we didn't know existed
and we were able to be pretty thrifty!
We booked a room at a little boutique hotel downtown Spokane, called the Montvail.
(Again, thru Groupon....I heart Groupon...seriously, I do!  If you haven't dealt with Groupon you ought to...it's that simple.)
With our room package we we able to valet our truck for free,
we received a $20 gift card good for Catacombs restaurant.
BTW, Mr. had never been to Catacombs so it was pretty awesome...
so much history.
We had some drinks and nibbles and then we did a little shopping.
We decided to go out the the new casino and have dinner
at a place called Masslow's.
It did not disappoint...swanky!
Who knew!?...it could defiantly pass for a Vegas restaurant and right here in Spokane.
We finished up the night with a little gambling and then back to the hotel.
Next morning we set out for a little breakfast at the Davenport Towers.
If you ever come to Spokane, you must go to the Davenport and the Towers!
Beautiful!
We are so spoiled to have somewhere so beautiful right here in our own city.
We finished up our day with a little antiquing, a movie, then
happy hour at Twigs.
It was all so relaxed...it would do it again in a heartbeat.
I am researching more places to go and things to do in Spokane
for our next stay-cation.

What kinds of things do you do for your anniversaries?

but we wanted a little something for now

Well, it is that time of year.

Back 2 School.

Busy everyday before work gathering all the
needed school supplies,
new school clothes,
back packs,
and of course,
sports physicals.

I need to add haircuts in there somewhere, but today it is physicals.

I will let you know how they go when I return.

I also have a great link to share on great

Blog, blog, blog!

Hello, my name is Jessica and I am addicted to blogs.

 Plain as that.

So, I did what every other blog lover does...I am trying my hand at blogging.
I am quite confidant in my abilities to cook, refinish things, craft, ect.

However, this kid of freaks me out...blogging does, but I like that!
I am driving my Mr. crazy trying to show him all of my projects, so I need somewhere to share them.

And... you fine folks are now going to fall victim to my excitement about Hazelnut Gelato filled Profiteroles, the amazing French dresser I just picked up on Craigslist, the process of my entire upstairs renovation, school, my kids, hubby, and other things I  might find while fulfilling my blog addiction!

 I am excited. :)

Are you?

By the way, in case for some bizarre reason you haven't seen this amazing blog, I will share it with you.

I love, love, love,
 love,
 love,
 love, love, love,

This is definitely the reason for my addiction.
Plain. And. Simple.
